Rental Properties

NHDC maintains an inventory of residential property that is available as rental housing for lower-income households. Our agency is especially interested in assisting Section 8 voucher households.

NHDC has 8 single-family rental properties in our housing inventory. Of the homes that are located in Gainesville; 1 is newly constructed; 5 properties were substantially rehab projects completed in 2007 & 2008. The remaining 2 are newly constructed rentals in Hawthorne.

NHDC intends to add a minimum twenty-six (26) additional rental units to our property management portfolio during the next five (5) years. The build-up of NHDC rental property inventory is intended to enhance this organization's monthly operating cash flow while providing a quality housing alternative for our clients.

We plan to focus on developing new single-family detached rental units in Gainesville and smaller communities in Alachua County. Our tenant preference is households currently participating in the Section 8 voucher program (but not necessary to acquire one of our rentals) administered through one of our local public housing authorities.
